When your pet needs surgery, you want a team you can trust completely. At Rockbrook Animal Clinic, our experienced veterinary surgeons have been performing a full range of soft tissue and orthopedic procedures for Omaha pet families for over 25 years. Every surgery, from routine to complex, is carried out with rigorous attention to patient safety, modern anesthesia protocols, and thorough pain management before, during, and after the procedure.

Surgery can be a stressful experience for pet owners, and we take that seriously. From your first consultation through to your pet's final follow-up appointment, our team keeps you informed, answers your questions honestly, and ensures you feel confident in every decision made along the way.

Before any procedure, your pet receives a comprehensive pre-surgical physical examination and pre-anesthetic bloodwork to confirm they are a safe candidate for anesthesia. We use modern monitoring equipment throughout every surgery to track vital signs continuously, and every patient receives an individualized pain management plan that carries through from pre-operative preparation into their recovery at home.

Soft tissue surgery covers a broad range of procedures involving the internal organs, skin, and other non-bony structures of the body. Our team is experienced in a wide variety of soft tissue procedures performed right here at our Omaha clinic, including:

CONSULT

This is the first step in the full arch process. During this appointment, you will meet with your Dr. Kurt O. Bally DMD FICOI to discuss your needs and options for dental implants. The consultation will typically take about an hour. This first and free visit is $525 value.
STEP 1
STEP 2

RECORDS

Your dentist will take a series of records, including dental x-rays, 3D scans, and photographs. These records will be used to create a treatment plan and to fabricate your dental implants.

PRE-SURGICAL CONSULT

This appointment is held before the surgery to discuss the risks and benefits of the procedure, as well as the recovery process. You will also have a chance to ask any questions you may have.
STEP 3
STEP 4

SURGERY

This is the procedure where the implants are placed into your jawbone. The surgery typically takes about 2 hours per jaw and is done safely with oral anesthesia. All patients leave with their new temporary teeth on the day of the surgery and will return within 1-2 weeks to have their first post-op visit and receive their fist implant prototype teeth. It is important to remain on a very soft diet after surgery and before receiving your first prototype.

PROTOTYPES

1-2 weeks after your surgery you will return to check your healing and receive your first set of implant prototype teeth that will be attached directly to your implants. We allow up to 3 versions of teeth during the healing process to ensure the dentist and patient is happy with the look and feel. As your implants heal your dentist will create a series of prototypes for your implant bridge. These prototypes will be used to test the fit and function of the bridge before it is permanently placed.
STEP 5
STEP 6

HEALING

The implants will need to heal for 4-6 months before the next step can be taken. Dr. Bally will also provide a night guard to help prevent excess pressure from going to your implants. As you heal you will remain on a soft diet.

PROTOTYPING AND VERIFICATION

Once the implants have healed, your dentist will create a final prototype of your dental bridge. This prototype will be verified to ensure that it is the correct size, shape, and color. Before authorizing the fabrication of your new zirconia implant smile.
STEP 7
STEP 8

DELIVERY

This is the appointment where your permanent dental bridge is placed. The procedure typically takes about 1 hour. It's a truly rewarding visit for everyone.

POST-DELIVERY CONSULT AND DOCUMENTATION

This appointment is held after your new zirconia implant smile is installed and your final night guard is given and instructions to maintain your smile are discussed. Final pictures, X-rays and video mark the end of your zirconia implant smile journey.
STEP 9
STEP 10

MAINTENANCE

Your zirconia implant smile will need to be maintained on a regular basis to ensure that it continues to function properly. This may include cleaning, adjustments, and checkups.

Surgical removal of lumps, growths, and tumors from the skin or underlying tissues. Early removal is often the most effective way to prevent spread and confirm a diagnosis through pathology.

1

Treatment of cuts, tears, and traumatic injuries that require surgical closure or reconstructive care to heal properly and minimize the risk of infection.

2

Surgery to address conditions affecting the stomach and intestines, including foreign body removal, intestinal obstructions, and other digestive emergencies.

3

Procedures to remove bladder stones, address urinary blockages, or correct structural abnormalities affecting normal urinary function.

4

Routine reproductive surgeries that also deliver significant long-term health benefits for both male and female pets.

5

Cruciate ligament injuries and patellar luxation are among the most common orthopedic conditions seen in dogs. A torn ACL can cause significant pain, lameness, and long-term joint damage if left untreated, while patellar luxation, where the kneecap slips out of its normal position, can significantly affect your dog's mobility and comfort over time.
Our team evaluates each patient individually to determine the most appropriate surgical approach based on the size, age, breed, and overall health of your dog. Signs that may indicate your dog needs evaluation include:
  • Sudden or gradual hind leg lameness
  • Reluctance to bear weight on one or both rear legs
  • Stiffness after rest or exercise
  • Swelling around the knee joint

Chronic ear disease is a painful and frustrating condition for many dogs and cats, particularly those prone to recurring infections or structural problems. When medical management is no longer providing adequate relief, surgical intervention may be the most effective path to lasting comfort.

We perform ear surgeries including lateral ear canal resection and total ear canal ablation (TECA) for patients with severe or end-stage ear disease. These procedures can dramatically improve quality of life for pets who have struggled with chronic ear pain and infection. Our team will thoroughly evaluate your pet's ear health and discuss all available options before recommending any surgical approach.

Most pets are able to return home the same day as their procedure. Before discharge, our team will walk you through all aftercare instructions in detail, including activity restrictions, wound care, medications, and what signs to watch for during recovery. We are always available by phone if you have questions between appointments.
If your pet has been recommended for surgery or you have concerns about a condition that may require surgical treatment, we encourage you to call us and schedule a consultation. Our team will examine your pet thoroughly, explain your options clearly, and help you feel confident every step of the way.
