Compassionate Preventative Care That Starts with Vaccines
At Rockbrook Animal Clinic, we believe that prevention is the cornerstone of every healthy pet's life. Vaccinations are one of the most powerful and cost-effective tools available in veterinary medicine, protecting your fur babies from serious, and often life-threatening, diseases that remain active throughout Nebraska and the greater Omaha area.
Our experienced veterinary team, led by Dr. Martin Ramm and our staff of licensed veterinarians and technicians, provides tailored vaccination plans based on your pet's age, species, lifestyle, and individual health history. No two pets are the same, and we treat every visit as an opportunity to deepen our relationship with you and your animal companion. Whether you're a new pet owner bringing in a puppy or kitten for their first round of shots, or a longtime client managing your senior pet's booster schedule, we're here to guide you every step of the way.
Vaccinations for Cats and Dogs
Vaccinations are one of the most effective tools available to protect your dog or cat from serious, potentially life-threatening diseases. At Rockbrook Animal Clinic, our veterinary team tailors vaccine protocols based on your pet's age, lifestyle, and individual exposure risks.

Dog Vaccinations
- Core Vaccines: Core immunizations are recommended for all dogs regardless of lifestyle or environment. These include Rabies, Distemper, Parvovirus, and Adenovirus, typically administered together as a combination vaccine.
- Non-Core Vaccines: Non-core vaccines are recommended based on your dog's activity level, environment, and risk of exposure. These may include Bordetella (Kennel Cough), Leptospirosis, Canine Influenza, and Lyme Disease.

Cat Vaccinations
- Core Vaccines: Core immunizations are recommended for all cats, including those that live exclusively indoors. These include Rabies, Feline Herpesvirus, Calicivirus, and Panleukopenia — typically administered together as the FVRCP combination vaccine. Rabies vaccination is required by Nebraska law for all cats.
- Non-Core Vaccines: Non-core vaccines are recommended based on your cat's outdoor access, contact with other cats, and individual risk factors. These may include Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV).
What to Expect From Your Pet's Vaccination Visit
We design each visit to be as stress-free as possible for your pet and for you.
Comfortable Check-In
Our individually numbered parking stalls and text-based check-in system let you notify us on arrival so your exam room is clean and ready before you come in. Dogs remain leashed; cats travel in carriers.
1
Comprehensive Wellness Exam
Every vaccination appointment begins with a full nose-to-tail physical examination. We assess your pet's weight, dental health, coat condition, heart, lungs, lymph nodes, and overall body condition before recommending any vaccines.
2
Personalized Vaccine Recommendations
Based on your pet's species, age, lifestyle, travel habits, and prior health history, our veterinarians recommend a vaccine protocol that balances protection with your individual pet's needs. We never over-vaccinate.
3
Administration & Monitoring
Vaccines are administered by our licensed technical staff with a gentle, fear-reduced approach. We observe your pet briefly post-vaccination and provide you with a written record and reminder for your pet's next due date.
4
Ongoing Reminders & Records
We maintain comprehensive vaccination records for each pet and will reach out with reminders when boosters are due. Records can be provided to boarding facilities, groomers, trainers, or any other provider you need.
