What We're Equipped to Handle
Rockbrook Animal Clinic is prepared to assess and treat many urgent situations during our regular clinic hours. Our trained team can provide care for a range of conditions, including:
Accidental Ingestion & Toxin Exposure
If your pet has eaten something they shouldn't have, such as, a household chemical, a human medication, a toxic plant, or an unknown substance, time is critical. Call us immediately and have the substance or packaging on hand if possible. We will advise you on the appropriate response and provide treatment as quickly as possible.
1
Sudden Illness
Rapid onset vomiting, diarrhea, extreme lethargy, or behavioral changes that come on without warning can indicate a serious underlying condition. We conduct prompt assessments and diagnostics to identify the cause and begin treatment without delay.
2
Wounds & Injuries
Lacerations, puncture wounds, trauma from falls or accidents, and animal bites all require prompt evaluation. We assess the extent of the injury, manage pain, and provide appropriate wound care and follow-up planning.
3
Eye & Ear Emergencies
Eye injuries and sudden ear conditions can deteriorate quickly without prompt attention. We evaluate and treat urgently to protect your pet's comfort and long-term function.
4
Urinary Emergencies
Straining to urinate, particularly in male cats, can indicate a life-threatening blockage. This is a situation that requires immediate attention and should never be left to resolve on its own.
5
Always Call Before You Come In
We ask that you always call before arriving for an urgent visit. This allows our team to prepare for your pet's arrival, give you guidance on safe transport if your pet is injured or in distress, and ensure we can provide the most effective care the moment you walk through the door. If your pet's condition appears life-threatening and you cannot reach us, please proceed to the nearest emergency veterinary facility.
